  • All remaining health restrictions lifted

Posted on    Posted in BGSD, COVID-19

    Dear parents/guardians,

As you know on Monday, June 13, 2022, the Government of Alberta announced that it will enter Step 3 of its plan to phase out public health measures related to the COVID-19 Pandemic. All remaining health restrictions have been lifted as of June 14, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

The Black Gold School Division (BGSD) has also rescinded its 2021-2022 Easing Restrictions: Moving from Pandemic to Endemic Plan posted online on February 28 of this year.

Black Gold continues to recommend that all staff and students stay home when sick, use an at-home rapid antigen test if available, and seek health care advice as appropriate (e.g., call Health Link 811, or their primary health care practitioner).

We would like to take a moment to thank all students, parents/guardians and caregivers for their patience and understanding. When the pandemic started in March of 2020, it truly was unprecedented. While the journey was long and brought hardships for all of us, the Black Gold family pulled together and found ways to carry on and thrive.

We recognize that mental health remains a concern for many, and Black Gold’s Mental Health at Home website has a number of strategies and resources to support positive mental health for our students. Parents/guardians and students who are concerned about the well-being of a student can also contact their school or access a number of community resources.

We hope that parents, guardians, and their families have a wonderful end to the school year followed by a great summer!

    Sincerely,

    Black Gold School Division
