SENGage: Black History Month

Members of the African Canadian Senators Group (ACGS) are holding events with schools through the month of February to mark and celebrate Black History Month.

Senators are open to addressing students on a number of different themes, including:  

·         Anti-Black Racism and allyship

·         Youth civic engagement and social Justice

·         Black women in politics and Black Feminism

·         Pandemic recovery, in relation to the United Nations Decade for People of African Descent (UNDPAD) Pillars

·         Black entrepreneurship and the impact of the pandemic

The topics would be addressed from the personal perspective of the senator, and linked to historical events and lived personal experiences.
