Parents/guardians and caregivers are advised that a large majority of Black Gold teachers leverage Google Classroom for student assignments. As a guardian, you can receive email summaries of your student’s work and progress.

Starting in Fall 2024 you can get guardian preview capabilities to view their Classwork page through direct links in the email summary. In the email summaries, you can review:

• Missing work—Work not turned in when the summary was sent.
• Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails).
• Class activities—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers.

Please note that neither email summaries nor preview capabilities include grading, you’ll need access PowerSchool to see that information.

Around half of the students across the Division already have guardian emails associated with their Google accounts, and we plan to sync the remaining in early October 2024.
